Members of the Rotary Club of Sevenoaks , its Satellite Rotary Club, the Friends of Shelby Newstead, and this year's sponsors welcome you to Sevenoaks
This year, we hope to raise as much as possible for organisations that provide services for seriously ill children, mental health in West Kent, bereavement support for young people, and ShelterBox in support of those made homeless by natural disaster and conflict.
The first 10Km Run in Knole Park was organised by the Rotary Club of Sevenoaks in March 2007. Its success in drawing athletes and social runners from all over Britain has allowed it to become an annual event. In March 2017 over 600 runners ran the ten kilometres, and the event raised £10,000 for Ellenor for children's hospice care in Kent, The Bridge Trust, Breast Cancer Care, and ShelterBox. Our principal sponsors were local businesses Knocker & Foskett, Up & Running Sevenoaks, Happen Web Technologies, and Ibbett Mosely.
If you choose to support your own charity with sponsorship from friends, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know how much you raise for them. This year, Knocker & Foskett, Up & Running Sevenoaks , Ibbett Mosely, A-Plan Insurance Sevenoaks and Happen Web Technologies, and The Chinaman are our main sponsors. The grounds of Knole Park are used by kind permission of Lord Sackville and the National Trust, for which we are very grateful.
After the success of the last four years, the 10k Run will again use computer based Chip timing to record runners' times and calculate their positions.
A number of strong teams from local and more distant Athletic Clubs will be competing for the Team Prizes.
There will be special medals for all runners who finish, and prizes for the first three men and women's individuals, and teams, plus the first three in the 1.5K Fun Run. Bananas will again be provided.
This year the Fun Run will take place in an earlier timeslot, 10:15, along the main racetrack. Last year we had over 60 entries of all ages.
Spectators are encouraged to come along to watch and support from the many viewing points.
The Organisers are hoping for good weather again, following the excellent spring day we enjoyed last year.
Thank you for your support
